TRHS GOLFER'S SKILLS PRACTICED AND PERFECTED AT ATKINSON COUNTRY CLUB FOR NINE YEARS

( ATKINSON, NH, November 1, 2005 ) — Members of the Timberlane Regional High School Golf Program had good reason to show their appreciation for long-time supporter, Atkinson Country Club, at the team's end-of-season awards banquet last month. Every year since 1997, Atkinson Country Club has provided free use of the club's 18-hole championship course and practice facility for the team's daily practice and competitive matches.

“The fact is, there might not even be a golf program at Timberlane if it weren't for owner Peter Lewis providing access to the Atkinson Country Club facilities,” says Julie Lockard of Danville, a parent of two student golfers and member of the school's Golf Boosters.

Team members presented Mr. Lewis and other Atkinson Country Club staff with a plaque of appreciation for their generosity over the past nine seasons, a team photo and a card personally signed by team members at the sports banquet held at the Atkinson Resort & Country Club on October 19 th.

“Thank you for letting us play on the most exquisite course on the planet!” wrote one student. “We're proud to call Atkinson country Club our home course,” said another.

“Atkinson Country Club is definitely one of the most challenging in the area,” Golf Coach Sean Chipman says of the course, which has a four-star rating by readers of Golf Digest. “These students know that if they can play well at this course, they can play just about anywhere.”

This year's TRHS golf team has 27 members, including two female players. Over the past nine years, the school has had more than 150 students in its golf program, which competes in the New Hampshire Interscholastic Athletic Association Class L (Division 1) level.

“We're happy to be able to give the kids a place to play and hope they learn to enjoy the game as much as so many others here do,” says Atkinson Country Club owner Peter Lewis.
