Atkinson Bulldogs to Compete for National Title in Cooperstown , NY

( ATKINSON , NH , February 27, 2006 ) --The Atkinson Bulldogs, a private, independent team of boys ages 10-12 year olds, many of whom also play in the Atkinson Little League program, have been selected to play in the Cooperstown Dreams Park and American Youth Baseball Hall of Fame Invitational Tournament. The tournament will be held the week of August 12, 2006 in the Magical Mythical Home of Baseball–Cooperstown, NY. In addition to competing against teams from around the country, members of the Atkinson Bulldogs will be enshrined in the prestigious American Youth Baseball Hall of Fame. The families of the players are paying the enrollment fees for the tournament while other additional costs for such items as trading pins, baseball bags, team shirts, pants and hats are being graciously provided through the sponsorship of the Atkinson Resort & Country Club. The players and coaches extend their deepest appreciation to the Atkinson Resort & Country Club for their team sponsorship and thank them for their tremendous support.

America's First and Foremost Youth Baseball Experience
The Cooperstown Dreams Park Experience, since 1996, offers more than baseball. This cultural and life enriching experience for team and family members will create memories to last a lifetime. Players and coaches will, like the heroes of the game before them, visit the National Baseball Hall of Fame, share hometown stories, trade pins and compete with players from around the U.S. for a weekly national title. Team records and photographs will be displayed in the American Youth Baseball Hall of Fame.

The Crown Jewel of Youth Baseball
Cooperstown Dreams Park , the First and Foremost Youth Baseball Facility, has 22 professionally groomed and lighted fields. Dreams Park is situated on 150 acres and features baseball diamonds with grass infields enclosed by eight-foot-high stadium walls.

Teams will spend seven days and six nights in the Baseball Village clubhouses and eat three meals daily in the team dining pavilion. Teams will arrive on Friday and depart the following Friday. Each team is guaranteed at least eight games (weather permitting) and will earn a seed to play in the single-elimination championship tournament. All teams will be represented in the “King of Swat,” “Road Runner,” “Golden Arm,” and “Around the Horn Plus” skill competitions.

Players will receive a Cooperstown Dreams Park home and away jersey, socks, hat, and the prestigious American Youth Baseball Hall of Fame ring. All teams/players will have a photo session and receive personalized Cooperstown Dreams Park baseball cards.

Throughout the summer of 2006 there will be eleven weekly national tournaments hosted by Cooperstown Dreams Park between June 17 th and September 1 st. Weekly championship teams will earn the right to participate in the premier youth baseball tournament, the National American Tournament of Champions (N.A.T.C.), which will be held August 27 th through September 1 st. Teams from across the country will compete for a TRUE 12 and under National Title.

Cooperstown Dreams Park is a place where all independent travel/select and sanctioned teams are unrestricted to play baseball as it was meant to be played. The tournament is open to athletes 12 years old and under with 96 teams participating weekly. Players and coaches will come in pursuit of their dreams in the legendary home of baseball … “reaching back to the heritage of baseball when people played for the love of the game and heroes were truly that.”

A Summer Tradition
All team are winners at Cooperstown Dreams Park. The Cooperstown Dreams Park mission and goal is to promote a high caliber of play and allow young players to experience the purity of baseball as it was meant to be. By stepping up to the plate, regardless of outcome, players will leave with a sense of pride, dignity and accomplishment for having participated and becoming a part of history. Cooperstown Dreams Park is a place in time where the players are their own heroes.
