Maintained by a group of well-trained professionals, Atkinson Country Club is under the direction of Peter Doherty, a PGA professional, and Steve Mollineaux, a GCSAA member. Peter is the head professional and is supported by a number of well-educated assistant professionals. All of our golf instructors offer group or private lessons. About the Pros
Peter Doherty, Head Golf Professional
	Peter joined the Atkinson Resort & Country Club team in 1997, first as Assistant Golf Professional then moving to Head Golf Professional in 2001. He currently oversees all golf operations both at the Atkinson Country Club and Willowcreek Golf Academy. Although he doesn't teach as often anymore, he still expects all his golf instructors to have one thing in common, make sure each and every experience is a memorable one for our customers.
Marc Spencer, Assistant Golf Professional
	Marc is a PGA member with a strong background in golf instruction.  During his 15 years as a golf professional, Marc has taught golfers of all ages, genders and skill levels.  Marc has instructed Junior and Collegiate players that have won on the local, state and national levels.  His playing accomplishments include top-10 finishes in the 2001, 2002 and 2007 Massachusetts Open Championship.  In 2008, Marc won the NEPGA Assistant’s Championship, the New Hampshire Chapter of the NEPGA Championship, finished T-4th in the NEPGA Section Championship and T-7th in the New England Open.  In 1998, Marc successfully advanced to the 2nd stage of the PGA Tour Qualifying School.  In 2007, Marc received the New Hampshire Chapter of the NEPGA “Teacher of the Year” award.
Sean Chipman, Assistant Golf Professional
	Sean is a PGA member who joined the Atkinson Resort & Country Club in 2001. He was a fine player as a junior and in college, earning State and All New England honors. Sean has been teaching golf for 8 years and has provided over 1500 private and group lessons. He has worked with golfers of all ages and abilities, and currently coaches the Timberlane High School golf team. Prior to working at our facility, Sean worked at the Ferncroft in Danvers, Massachusetts.
Matthew Prior, Assistant Golf Professional
	Matt joined the Atkinson Resort Golf & Country Club in March 2008 after moving here from Wales (UK). He has been a Golf Professional since 2001 and is a qualified PGA Professional with the British PGA. Matt provides golf lessons to individuals or groups of all ages and abilities. Matt is currently enrolled in the PGA Program working towards his Class A Certification "Learning/improving good fundamentals in a relaxed friendly environment is the secret to consistent golf" says Matt. His playing accomplishments since turning pro include 13 wins and being selected to represent his country in the 2004 European Team Championship.
Sean McQuillan, Assistant Golf Professional
	Sean joined the Atkinson Resort & Country Club in 2008. After graduating from college with a degree in business management, Sean became a financial analyst for a major U.S. corporation. Yet his passion and dedication to the game of golf prevailed over a career in the corporate world. Sean brings extensive first hand knowledge and experience to each lesson. His philosophy is, regardless of the student�s level of play, to ensure that each golf instruction is a positive and enjoyable experience Sean is currently enrolled in the PGA Program working towards his Class A Certification.
Wayne Swanson, Assistant Golf Professional
	One of our newest golf instructors, Wayne joined the Atkinson Resort & Country Club staff in 2008 as a teaching professional, working with clinics for adults and juniors. Wayne also enjoys conducting private lessons for those that want the one on one attention. For the past four years he has been the JV Golf Coach for Timberlane Regional High school. Wayne is looking forward to using his background in customer service to help provide the ultimate golf instruction experience at The Atkinson Resort & Country Club.
Steve Mollineaux, Golf Course Superintendent
	Steve began working as Golf Course Superintendent in 2004. His education includes a B.S. in Plant and Soil Science from The University of Massachusetts. Steve has worked in the golf business since 1987, including golf course & landscape construction. At a young age he started working in pro shops, but over time his passion for course maintenance emerged and he has dedicated his career path towards that interest. He enjoys the challenges of combining environmental and cultural practices with the game of golf. Within course maintenance he enjoys renovating and improving playability of the golf course.

Group Golf Lessons

Please check our website frequently during the year for ongoing golf clinic dates. Throughout the year our pros hold several Summer and Vacation Week junior golf clinics for student golfers aged 4-16, as well as Ladies' and Men's clinics.
